ASCAS is owned and operated by Shaye and Jessica Straw. With over 15 years experience in long term care, skilled nursing and sub-acute social work, Shaye has guided many families through the difficult process of identifying the right level of care and finding appropriate community resources to meet the often complex needs of a vulnerable senior loved one.

Jessica has a background in business management and is especially knowledgeable about individual placement options. She personally conducts an on-site screening of each supported living environment referred by ASCAS to ensure the most appropriate placement possible, based on individual preferences and needs.

Shaye and Jessica are dedicated to helping seniors and their families as well as experienced at recognizing the diverse needs of seniors and coordination of services, resources and support to meet those needs.

Our consulting registered nurses add the level of clinical assessment and oversight necessary to create and implement a comprehensive care plan for each client.

Placement referrals are not all that we do- Providing outstanding support and service to seniors in our community is our mission and the services we offer encompass much more than just making referrals to supported living environments.
We know seniors and their needs- Our founder has nearly 20 years of experience providing support to seniors in our community through social work and case management in skilled nursing, sub-acute and assisted living environments.
We care about our clients- ASCAS provides very personalized placement referral services; touring alongside individuals and/or their family, while considering supported living options, to help ask the right questions and address their specific needs and preferences.
We know our providers- ASCAS applies a very thorough screening process for all supported living environments prior to any placement referrals ever being considered as well as regular re-visits to providers. This process means we can be certain our clients will receive the best care in an environment matched to their individualized needs.
We are advocates for change- Unlike most other placement referral services, ASCAS is structured to eliminate the conflict of interest inherent to much of the placement referral industry that incentivizes placement in the environment that charges clients the most money and not the environment that best serves the client’s needs. We provide a level of compassionate service, ongoing support and consultation on issues that goes far beyond simply finding the right supported living environment, all at no cost to our clients.
